As the year comes to a close, I think we had a very successful year. We started out with the Change of Watch, we had the Picnic at Sandy Hook, The Travis Parade, the trip to Haverstraw which we had 35 people show up for dinner and The Famous Crab-Q with over 50 people in attendance.
The 75th Anniversary was a huge success. People are still telling me what a great time they had. I hope I'm around for the 100th. I can't wait to see how Don Heap is going to top the 75th.
We are the only Squadron hosting a cocktail party at the Spring and Fall conferences in District. We have the Christmas brunch which we raise money for the New York Foundling Hospital and the Squadron Christmas party.
I have tried to hold up the traditions of Staten Island Power Squadron and I think I started some new ones.
A commander is as only as good as the people behind him or her. I have a good Bridge and great support and the hard work of the membership behind me.
I look forward to the New Year.
I wish everyone HAPPY HOILDAYS and a very HEALTHY NEW YEAR.
